Why not come down to Edmonton Leisure Centre on Thursday 24^th May, between 10am – 2pm, for the Job and Training Fair hosted by JobsNet.

You will have the chance to speak to local employers, training organisations and skills advisors about job, apprenticeship and training opportunities in the area.

Enfield Council will also be offering advice on childcare arrangements, assistance with finding employment and benefits advice.

The heat was on at Edmonton Green Shopping centre last Thursday (26th April), as student chefs from Barnet and Southgate College were knocking up nutritious and delicious meals as part of a drive to promote healthy cooking and more sustainable food in the borough.
 
Shoppers were able to sample food and watch cooking demonstrations for dishes including jerk chicken, onion pilaff and pan fried salmon.
 
All the dishes were created by the students and copies of the delicious recipes were handed out along with vouchers for the ingredients which could be exchanged in local high street shops on the day of the live cooking demonstration.
 
The event was set up to support Enfield Council's Food Strategy which aims to increase the production and consumption of healthy, sustainable food in Enfield, boost high street businesses and work with food producers to ensure the borough remains one of the big food suppliers in the capital.

You will be excited to hear that the Big Dance Bus will be returning to Edmonton Green on 2^nd June after its major success in 2010.

Celebrate the Jubilee with some fantastic performances from local dance troupes and professional dancers dancing on the only double decker bus that has its very own stage.

Watch out for more Jubilee themed events in the centre…..including a huge tea party! More details to follow……
