Temporary changes to bus routes in the Edmonton Area.

We are making temporary changes to bus routes in the Edmonton Area from Monday 16 July 2018 for approximately six weeks.

This is due to the part closure of Edmonton Green Roundabout for Cycle Enfield works by Enfield Council.

Bus routes 102, 144, 149, 192, 259, 279, 349, 491, 616, N279, W6 and W8 are affected.

  • The main impact is local to Edmonton Green bus station, with all of the above bus routes not able to serve the bus station, or serving different stops to normal in the bus station. Notices at the bus stops will direct customers to alternative stops within the bus station or on the street nearby, with routes diverted locally.
  • Most buses will be diverted southbound along Monmouth Road (west end), St Martin’s Road and Plevna Road.

In addition:

  • Bus route W6 will be unable to serve the bus station or Edmonton Green station in either direction. It will terminate at bus stop S (westbound) (‘All Saints Church’) in Church Street. As a consequence, towards Southgate it will run along the full length of Haselbury Road and omit Victoria Road and Northern Avenue.
  • Bus route W8 westbound (towards Chase Farm Hospital) will be unable to run along Church Street between Edmonton Green and the Great Cambridge Road, and will be diverted via Fore Street, North Circular Road and Great Cambridge Road. Customers, including students of Latymer School, will need to board the bus in Hertford Road (stop LH, north of the bus station), Fore Street (stop K, south of the bus station) or in Church Street west of the Great Cambridge Road (bus stop EG, ‘Edmonton Cemetery’). There is no change to bus route W8 eastbound (towards Picketts Lock) except it will not be able to serve the bus station.
  • Bus route 616 towards Winchmore Hill, which normally picks up Latymer students in Church Street in the afternoon, will also be unable to serve Church Street and will also not serve the Great Cambridge Road. It will be diverted via Fore Street and Silver Street to the Great Cambridge Roundabout, taking up its normal route from Hedge Lane. It will pick up the Latymer students on Silver Street (westbound), at bus stop J (‘North Middlesex Hospital’), near the south end of Haselbury Road. While buses will depart Edmonton Green at the normal times, the additional journey time taken for the buses along Fore Street and Silver Street should give sufficient time for students to walk the length of Haselbury Road to Silver Street. There is no change to bus route 616 in the morning towards the school.

Edmonton Green Goes Green!

EDMONTON GREEN GOES GREEN!

10th – 15th April

Last April half term, we were on a mission to raise awareness about the importance of the environment through a variety of fun, FREE, eco-themed family events!

From Monday 10th April, Market Square transformed into a green garden with an Eco pledge wall, workshops, and freebies such as FREE re-usable shopper bags.

PLUS we had loads of activities to keep the kids busy – from our Eco Trail around the Centre to plant pot decorating and storytelling sessions inside our giant seedpod.

Not to forget our Flower Power Hedgemen who roamed around the mall – they made for great photo opportunities.

You also had the chance to come and visit Dr. Bike from Cycle Enfield. There were FREE bike repairs on offer and you learnt how we recycle to help the community with Bagnall & Morris Waste Services. They celebrated our eco days by giving away mini wheelie bins and balloons. Did you get one?

Also there was Groundwork London and Agility Eco to tell you guys about LEAP and how it can help you to save money and keep your home warm and cosy!
