Hundreds flocked to Edmonton Green Shopping Centre on Saturday 7 December to celebrate an alternative festive celebration.
Edmonton Green invited shoppers and local residents to the scheme to take part in an Afro-Caribbean Christmas.
The purpose of this event was to embrace the different and wonderful cultures that surround us here at Edmonton Green.
London African Drumming Association joined us in putting on this exciting three-hour workshop in the heart of the centre, each workshop drew in the crowds and entertained passers-by as the rhythm and dance filled South Mall.
The beats could be heard from afar and the chants echoed throughout the scheme.
Winston, local resident, explained: “I saw the crowd from near the market and wondered what all the commotion was about. I was really excited to see that there was a music event taking place that was more personable to both me and my daughter. She took part in the drumming workshop and I got dragged up for a dance. The atmosphere was electric.”
