La Dolce Piazza has been in the heart of Edmonton Green for over 10 years, since it opened its doors in February 2007.
Offering a large range of Italian coffees and food, owner Catarina shares with us about how her passion grew and how she came about living in Edmonton Green.
Catarina explains: “I came to this country with my family, when I was 15. I grew up close to the city centre which provided the perfect opportunity to learn how to run and manage a coffee shop.
“Something was different, in all the coffee shops and delicatessens I worked in, none of them stood out or had their own little niche that made them independent. I knew then that I could bring my own touch to my own store.
“Choosing the location was easy, there is a fantastic community that surrounds The Green – I just knew I wanted to be in an area that was busy and offered diverse choices.
“I am incredibly proud to say that I have built this shop up from scratch. I didn’t do it for myself, I did it for my family and more importantly my children. Building this shop meant that they could have a family trade to fall into if they desired.
“I have now developed a lovely customer base with regular customers, I’m not just the face behind the counter, I am their friend. I believe it is important to treat everyone with the same kindness in which you would expect to be treated.
“I have a passion for food, and I hope that that is seen in the food we make and prepare here. Everything is made fresh from start to finish – there’s no ready meals here.
“I’ve enjoyed an incredible 12 years right here in Edmonton Green so far and I look forward to what the future holds for La Dolce Piazza”
